Our Healthy Workplaces Derbyshire team have been busy improving the health and wellbeing of one waterborne Derbyshire workforce.

They’ve been working with staff from Riber Products based in Clay Cross.

The family-owned business creates water sports equipment including kayaks, stand up paddle boards and more, so getting active and healthy is part of the company’s core values.

Becky Hunter, Riber Products Director, said that they started working with Healthy Workplaces Derbyshire in April this year following an email from the team.

Becky said:

“We decided to use their free service to benefit our employees and to get them to focus on their health.

 “I think they have all really appreciated the opportunity to have a look at their health and consider things they may need to change moving forwards

“We have learnt lots about our personal health and the changes we can make.”

Healthy Workplaces Derbyshire support workplaces across Derbyshire to invest in initiatives that promote health and wellbeing.

Our aim is to support workplaces, to create a working environment that is happy, healthy, supportive and productive.

The team worked with Riber Products to carry out NHS Health Checks and Live life Better Derbyshire body MOTS across two sites to around 20 staff.

The sessions were all booked in advance to ensure there was minimum disruption to the organisation.

Becky added:

“The team are fast and efficient to respond to any queries. I cannot fault their advice and help.

“If other businesses are thinking about taking part, we would say do it! Without question! It has been really eye-opening and beneficial to all that took part.

“All I can say is thank you. I think it is a brilliant service and I am glad we were offered the opportunity to take part.”
